We collaborated with Shishu Boogie Woogie , located in Umegaoka, Setagaya Ward, Tokyo, to create the LOGO EMBROYDALY SWEAT , which uses the MEYAME logo as a motif.
This embroidery shop is run by Mr. and Mrs. Kawase, who are both pop and very serious about their work.
We started interacting with each other about a year ago through an introduction from someone who has been helping us, and we have been discussing in detail how we can work together.
This time, we will be sharing various stories that we heard from the two of them.

As soon as you leave Umegaoka Station and walk down the shopping street, you will come across some great shops.

The couple searched for a property in a shopping district, but they didn't limit themselves to a specific area and looked broadly. They also liked the atmosphere along the Odakyu Line, which is why they decided on this property.
They are of course happy and grateful that people come to their store, and from there they hope to pass on information to customers, such as "That bakery over there is really delicious" or "The deep-fried tofu at this tofu shop is exquisite," and become a part of the shopping district and become a part of the town.
Next, let's talk about the division of roles.

Tsutomu is in charge of design. This is the software he uses when designing embroidery. He designs the width, direction, color, etc. of the embroidery here.
Even with the same design, the embroidery will look different depending on whether the material is stretchy or not, so it will be adjusted to suit the material. Some embroidery shops reuse the same design, but the two carefully make samples over and over again and check them as they go along.

and Naoe actually embroiders on a sewing machine. This is the USB containing the embroidery data created by Tsutomu. This USB connects the two of them working together.

The sweatshirt we made together this time had the MEYAME name embroidered on it, and they proceeded with every step very carefully, starting with a question like "Should the red stitching be vertical or horizontal?"
I was pleasantly surprised at how beautifully it could be expressed!

Finally, when we asked about future plans, they said they were considering expanding overseas. In fact, the reaction from overseas customers has been very positive. We feel that their careful work will surely be well received by people overseas as well.
The shop is a wonderful space that embodies the two designers' unique worldview, and is filled with original clothing, caps, and miscellaneous goods.

There are many interesting shops in the Umegaoka shopping district, so if you ask the two of them, they'll tell you a lot about them. We recommend exploring Umegaoka with a cup of coffee on your day off.
