The fabric is made from cotton and polyester yarn, making it much lighter and more comfortable to wear than it looks. The polyester content also makes it less likely to stretch, which is an important point.

The slit is rolled up, and the hem and cuffs are not finished with the usual ribbing, but in a slightly unusual way.
